Lauren Dana is an artist whose “landscape dances” evoke the physical and spiritual movements of the natural world. Drawing from observations, photographs, and memories, her freestyle oil paintings transform representational environments into emotive explorations of color and motion. She describes her relationship to the canvas as a free-flowing rhythm, allowing the brush to create lush gardens, quiet corners, and joyful environments through which one can travel.
Dana graduated from the University of Nebraska with a BFA. Her work is in private collections across the United States, and she frequently participates in exhibitions at institutions such as Lauritzen Gardens and the annual benefit auction at Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts.
She lives and works in her hometown of Omaha, NE.
